the Very Black Project

Founded in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn by art director Justin Fulton and sacred healing artist Bloodstone, The Very Black Project began as kitchen table conversations rooted less in building a brand and more in exploring what it means to exist fully while Black.

What emerged was not simply a platform, but a living practice centered on storytelling, ritual, and collective liberation.

As Very Black continues to evolve, we are embracing slower, more intentional rhythms that honor the very values we speak about. We reject the pressure of constant visibility, performance, and production in favor of work that is thoughtful, embodied, and sustainable.

Some seasons may be louder than others. Some may be quieter. Both are sacred.

Whether through merchandise, gatherings, reflections, or moments of pause, Very Black remains committed to creating space for restoration, imagination, and liberation.

At its core, Very Black is not just something to consume — it is an invitation to return to yourself.
